During freshman landscape architecture studio, I studied the work of Laurie Olin. Imitating his sketches -- which are primarily in pen -- I picked up a Micron for the first time. I have never looked back. Studying Laurie Olin changed the way I draw and how I view the subject of a drawing. Master of a well-edited drawing, he uses just enough white space and knows just when to stop.
